NEW TRANSMISSIONS: THE HYPNOTIC RITUAL OF PSYLENT CHILL'S 'GANESHA'

Bas: Psylent Chill

Listening to "Ganesha" is not a passive act. It is an experience. The track begins with a rhythm that feels less like music and more like the chanting of mythical creatures. It’s an opening that slowly pulls you into a trance-like state, a sound so unique it almost forces you to bring your guard down and just let the music permeate.

The sounds that follow are intentional, specific, and beyond creative. In a world of copy-paste chillwave, "Ganesha" stands apart. Very few songs feel this unique.

This is the magic of Psylent Chill. The name itself is a clue, a brilliant nod to the classic horror game Silent Hill. For the artist, Bas, this connection is the core of his project.

The Peacefulness of Horror

“I’m fascinated by how something dark and unsettling can feel strangely peaceful,” he explains. “Horror and calm seem like opposites, yet they create the same state of mind: total presence. When you’re lost in a horror world, everything else drops away... That intensity can feel almost psychedelic, like drifting into a dimension where tension and release blur into one hypnotic calm. That’s the essence of Psylent Chill.”

The Sound of Contrast

He achieves this hypnotic calm by blending unexpected worlds. His background is not in downtempo, but in high-energy hardstyle and psy-trance, wiring him to "hunt for odd, playful sound design." His creative process starts not with a beat, but with "a wide, sometimes contrasting palette."

His influences are just as eclectic. Believe it or not, he draws significant inspiration from blues music for its energy and, on the other hand, can listen to "cheesy electronic music from Asia." That jarring contrast is precisely what defines the Psylent Chill vibe.

A Ritual for Mental Noise

The track's title, "Ganesha," is the final piece of the puzzle. Named for the Hindu "remover of obstacles," the song is a direct reflection of its namesake.

“I wrote the track as a small ritual for clearing mental noise,” Bas says. “It is a small reminder that a certain amount of mental chaos can sometimes be useful and fun in a creative process... a quick reboot of the mind and renewal of energy.”

A quick reboot is exactly what this track provides. Psylent Chill brings something to the table that nobody else does. Someone once described his music as "grounded yet weightless"- a perfect description for this track, and without question, the most unique song we have ever featured on our Signal Palms playlist. It’s a true gem that deeply rewards you for three minutes of focused listening. As Bas continues his work on a tribute series dedicated to "mythical/amazing creatures," it's clear this is an experience worth following.
