Red Lab Direct: Terms
Red Lab Direct is a private, six-month advisory relationship for serious AI-assisted musicians. It gives you direct strategic guidance at set points in the term, a focused channel for questions between sessions, and members-only access to book mastering. It is not always-on consulting, and it is not label or A&R representation. These terms lay out exactly what the membership includes and how it works, so there are no surprises on either side. Red Lab Direct is offered by JG BeatsLab LLC.
Membership and eligibility
Red Lab Direct requires an active Red Lab Access membership. Red Lab Access is sold separately and is not included in the Red Lab Direct price. The advisory work draws on the Unlock books and other Red Lab Access materials directly (your Strategy Brief will point you to specific sections to revisit), so the program assumes you own that library. Joining Red Lab Direct without Red Lab Access means you will get far less out of it.
Term and renewal
Membership runs for six months from your start date. It does not renew automatically, and you will never be charged for a new term without choosing to buy one. Your second Strategy Brief reviews the six months behind you and maps the next ones. Near the end of your term, you will also get a short reminder with a simple link to renew if you want to continue. Your membership rate is locked as long as you stay enrolled: renew without a gap between terms and your membership price stays the same, even if rates rise for new members. If your membership lapses, re-joining later is at the rate in effect at that time.
Pricing and payment
You can pay for your six-month term in one of two ways:
Pay in full: $600.
Monthly: $720 total, collected as $120 at signup plus five monthly payments of $120.
Both options are a commitment to the full six-month term. There is no month-to-month option and no partial term. On the monthly plan, your final payment is collected in month five, while your membership continues through the end of month six. The timing of payments does not change the length of your term or your refund rights. If a monthly payment does not go through, it is retried automatically. If it stays unpaid after about a week, access pauses until your balance is current, and the full six-month amount remains owed.
Refunds
You can request a full refund within 14 days of joining, as long as your first strategy session has not yet taken place. Once your first session is delivered, or once 14 days have passed, whichever comes first, the six-month term is non-refundable. This applies to both payment options. The monthly plan is a binding six-month commitment even though the payments are spread out.
What your membership includes
Across each six-month term:
Two strategy sessions, one per quarter, roughly 60 minutes each, by phone or video.
Two written Strategy Briefs, one after each session.
A focused question channel for use between sessions.
Members-only access to book mastering, at the per-slot rate.
That is the full membership. Work outside this set is not part of Red Lab Direct.
Strategy sessions
Sessions are booked during set booking weeks each quarter, so scheduling stays predictable for both of us. A short intake form is required before each session so the time stays focused (your onboarding intake covers your first session). Sessions cover your music strategy, release plans, promotion, and the platform-specific challenges you are working through, kept to the platforms taught in the Unlock books and the topics covered in your Red Lab Access materials, including the Red Lab Protocol reports.
If you miss a session without notice, or cancel within 24 hours of it, that session is forfeited for the quarter. You get one courtesy exception per year, at my discretion. There is no rebooking fee.
Question support
Between sessions, you have a channel for focused questions. It works this way:
One question at a time. Submit a single, focused question. Once I have answered, you can reply once for clarification, and then the thread closes. A new question starts a new thread after the current one is closed.
Questions should relate to the platforms and topics covered in the Unlock books and your Red Lab Access materials.
This channel is for concise strategic and execution questions. It is not for audio, mix, or stem review, prompt rewrites, full release audits, or document production. Broader project discussion belongs in your strategy sessions. A finished stereo mix can be submitted only through a paid mastering slot.
I respond within two business days (Monday to Friday), not counting holidays or any published time away.
If a question falls outside this scope, or arrives as several questions at once, I will point you back to the one-focused-question format or to your next strategy session, whichever fits.
Mastering access
Membership gives you the right to book mastering, subject to availability. It does not include mastering in the price. Each slot is booked and paid separately at the current per-slot rate ($50 per slot). This rate is not locked and may change over time. The rate in effect when you book a slot is the rate for that slot.
Mastering availability is limited and shared across all members, booked first-come. You can hold one booking at a time, and you book your next slot only after your current one is used, so no one can reserve weeks of slots in advance.
Each slot covers one stereo mix in and one mastered WAV out, with one minor revision included.
Mastering does not include stem mixing, vocal repair, arrangement feedback, or mix coaching.
If the mix you submit is not ready to master, it is returned for correction, and your slot fee becomes a credit toward the rebooked slot (one such conversion per booking).
Booking a slot does not guarantee that every track you want mastered can be accommodated.
Time away
When I have published time away, mastering slots are not available during those weeks, and the question-support response clock pauses. Any planned closures are shared with you in advance.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect when you join or renew applies to that term. Material changes are communicated clearly.
