This policy explains what information JG BeatsLab LLC ("JG BeatsLab," "we," "us," "I") collects when you use jgbeatslab.com, buy something, submit a song, or join the mailing list, and what I do with it. JG BeatsLab is run by Josh Gilliland.

What I collect

Information you give me

  • Contact details: your name, email address, and artist name.
  • Order details: what you bought, your billing address, and order history. Payments are processed by Squarespace and its payment providers. I don't see or store your full card number.
  • Music and files: songs, files, links, and notes you send for mastering, the Jukebox, or consulting.
  • Messages: emails and form submissions, including anything you tell me about your music or projects.
  • Account information: if you create a site account, the details you use to log in.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from IP address, and referring site. This is collected through Squarespace analytics and cookies.
  • Advertising and measurement tools: the site uses the Meta Pixel and Google tags (including Google Ads). These help me understand which ads and pages bring people to the site, and they may let Meta and Google show you JG BeatsLab ads elsewhere. Those companies may set their own cookies and handle the data under their own privacy policies.
  • Email engagement: newsletter and campaign emails may record whether you opened them and which links you clicked.

How I use it

  • To deliver what you bought: send downloads, master your songs, run the Jukebox, and hold consulting sessions.
  • To communicate with you about your orders, files, and questions.
  • To send the newsletter and marketing emails, if you've signed up or agreed at checkout. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To feature Jukebox submissions as described in the Terms of Service.
  • To understand how the site is used and to improve it, my products, and my advertising.
  • To keep records for accounting, taxes, and legal obligations, and to prevent fraud or misuse.

I don't sell your personal information. I don't share your music or files with anyone except as needed to deliver the service, or as you've agreed to through the Jukebox.

Who I share it with

Only the service providers that run this business, to the extent they need it:

  • Squarespace: website, store, checkout, site accounts, analytics, and some email campaigns.
  • Payment processors used by Squarespace checkout.
  • Mailchimp: newsletter and email automation.
  • Google (Workspace, Drive, Analytics, Ads): email, file sharing for orders, and measurement.
  • Meta: advertising measurement.
  • Spotify and other platforms: only public details of Jukebox songs I place or feature, like song title and artist name.

I may also share information if the law requires it, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. The site uses them for things like keeping your cart, remembering preferences, analytics, and advertising measurement. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies with the banner on the site, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features, like checkout, may not work without them. You can also limit ad personalization through your Google and Meta account settings.

How long I keep it

  • Order and payment records: as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes.
  • Mailing list data: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it.
  • Music files and deliverables: only as long as needed to complete your order and handle any revision, unless you ask me to keep them. I don't guarantee long-term storage, so keep your own copies.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any email.
  • Access, correct, or delete: email josh@jgbeatslab.com and I'll respond within a reasonable time, generally 30 days. Some information may need to be kept for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Depending on where you live, including California, the EU, and the UK, you may have additional rights, such as knowing what personal information I hold, objecting to certain uses, or opting out of targeted advertising. To use any of these rights, email me. I won't treat you differently for using them.

International visitors

JG BeatsLab is based in the United States, and the service providers above may store data in the US and other countries. By using the site, you understand that your information may be processed outside your home country.

Children

The site and products aren't directed to children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, contact me and I'll delete it.

Security

I use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

I'll update this policy as the business, tools, and providers change. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
