Terms of Service

Last updated: October 21, 2026

These terms cover your use of jgbeatslab.com and anything you buy from JG BeatsLab LLC ("JG BeatsLab," "we," "us," "I"). JG BeatsLab is run by Josh Gilliland. When you browse the site, buy a product, submit a song, or send me files, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or buy from it.

Questions about any of this: josh@jgbeatslab.com.

1. Things change, and these terms account for that

AI music moves fast, and so does this business. Tools update, platforms change their rules, and I add, change, and retire products as the work evolves. That's normal here, and these terms are written to handle it.

Products and services can change or be discontinued. I may change, update, rename, reprice, or stop offering any product, service, feature, or page at any time. If you already paid for something, you get what was described at the time you bought it, unless these terms say otherwise. Retiring a product doesn't take away a download you already received.

Prices can change. Prices are set when you check out. A later price change, up or down, doesn't change what you paid, and earlier buyers aren't owed the difference.

Content can go out of date. Books, guides, templates, research, and other educational material describe tools and platforms as they were when written. Third-party tools (Suno, Mureka, Spotify, DistroKid, and others) change their features, pricing, and policies without notice. I update material when I can, but I can't promise that any given piece stays current, and some features or steps I describe may no longer exist by the time you read them.

These terms can change. I may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when. If you use the site or buy something after a change, the updated terms apply to that use or purchase. Purchases made before a change are governed by the terms in place when you bought.

2. Third-party tools and platforms

JG BeatsLab is independent. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Suno, Mureka, Spotify, OpenAI, or any other company whose tools I write about or work with. Product names belong to their owners.

Some of what I offer runs on, or depends on, other companies' platforms, for example a tool hosted inside ChatGPT, files shared through Google Drive, or playlists hosted on Spotify. Those platforms have their own terms, and they can change, limit, or end access on their own schedule. I'm not responsible for changes a third party makes, and I can't guarantee that any third-party-hosted tool, playlist, or feature stays available.

3. Digital products (books, guides, templates, and similar)

When you buy a digital product, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it yourself. You may not resell, share, redistribute, publish, or upload it anywhere others can access it, or use it to train or build a competing product.

Download links are delivered by email and on the order confirmation page. Links expire for security, but an expired link lets you request a fresh one, and you can always email me. Keep your own copy of what you download. I can't promise that every past version of a product stays available forever.

Buying a standalone book doesn't include future editions. When a book is rebuilt into a new edition, the new edition is a separate product. Membership includes Library updates as described in section 5.

4. Mastering

Your files and your rights. You keep full ownership of your music. By sending me files, you give me permission to download, store, process, and edit them to deliver the service, and to keep working copies while the order is open. You confirm that you have the rights to the material you send, including whatever rights your AI tool's terms give you, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

What mastering is. Mastering works on the finished stereo file you send. It sets level, tonal balance, and peak control, and it can handle edits like fades, small timing changes, or pauses when I judge them workable. It isn't mixing, stem separation, composition, or vocal removal. Some requests, like removing a single sung word from a finished mix, are really mix jobs. When I take one on, it's best effort, and I'll tell you up front if I can't promise a clean result.

Revisions. Each master includes one revision. A revision means adjusting the master I delivered, not starting over from a different source file.

Turnaround. Stated turnaround times are estimates measured in business days from when I have a usable file, not from the order date. I don't count weekends, holidays, or posted time off.

Files mastering can't fix. If a file has problems mastering can't meaningfully fix, I'll tell you before I do the work. Your payment converts to store credit instead of a refund.

No guarantees about outcomes. A master doesn't guarantee acceptance by any distributor or platform, any number of streams, playlist placement, chart position, or any result from an AI-detection tool. I don't certify whether a track meets any platform's AI policy. Those rules differ between platforms and change often.

File storage. Delivered masters and Mastering Dossiers are shared by link. Keep your own copies. I don't guarantee long-term storage of your source files or deliverables, and I may delete them after the order is complete.

5. Membership

JG BeatsLab Membership is a one-time purchase with no recurring charge.

What "lifetime" means. Membership benefits, including Library updates and the member mastering rate, last for as long as JG BeatsLab offers Membership. "Lifetime" refers to the life of the program, not to any particular person's lifetime or a fixed number of years. If I ever end the Membership program, you keep the Library downloads you already have.

The member mastering rate is a discount off the current public mastering price, currently 20%. It follows the public price if that price changes. It applies to mastering only, through the member discount code, and can't be combined with other discounts unless I say so.

Library updates cover revisions to existing Library materials and new material I choose to add to the Library. They don't include separate products, consulting, custom reviews, mastering, cohorts, live sessions, or future products unless I add them to the Library myself.

The contents of the Library can change as material is updated, combined, or retired.

6. The Jukebox

What you're paying for. A Jukebox submission pays for a real listen and consideration in that month's cycle. It doesn't buy a feature or a playlist placement. Payment never influences selection.

Selection. Features, playlist placements, and how long a song stays on a playlist are my editorial decisions. The number of features, the playlists, cycle dates, and how the program works can change. A song has to be released on Spotify to go on a Jukebox playlist.

Permission to feature. By submitting, you let me listen to, describe, and share your song in connection with the Jukebox: on the JG BeatsLab blog, playlists, newsletter, podcast, and social media. That includes your artist name, song title, artwork, links you provide, and the note you submit. You keep all rights to your music.

Declined submissions. I may decline a submission that's hateful, infringing, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate for the program. In that case I'll decide whether to refund it.

Feedback. Written feedback on the feedback tier is my honest opinion as a listener and engineer. It's not a guarantee of any result.

7. Consulting and educational content

Consulting sessions, books, posts, emails, the podcast, and other content are educational and reflect my experience and opinions. They're not legal, financial, tax, or accounting advice. For rights, registration, contracts, or money decisions, talk to a qualified professional. I don't guarantee any particular outcome from following anything I teach.

8. Payments, refunds, and store credit

Payments are processed by Squarespace and its payment providers. Prices are in US dollars unless shown otherwise.

  • Digital products are generally non-refundable once delivered. If something's wrong with a file you bought, email me and I'll fix it.
  • Services (mastering, Jukebox, consulting) are handled case by case. Where a service can't be delivered as described, I may offer store credit, a partial refund, or a full refund at my discretion. Mastering is covered by section 4.
  • Store credit applies to future JG BeatsLab purchases and has no cash value.

If you're not satisfied, email josh@jgbeatslab.com and I'll work with you to make it right.

9. Reviews and messages

If you leave a review or send me feedback, you let me display it on the site and in marketing, with your first name or artist name, unless you ask me not to. I'll remove it if you ask.

10. Intellectual property

The site, books, templates, Mastering Dossier format, branding, and other JG BeatsLab materials belong to JG BeatsLab LLC and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Don't copy, republish, or sell them without written permission. Your music stays yours.

11. Acceptable use

Don't use the site or any JG BeatsLab product to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, upload harmful code, scrape the site, or interfere with how it works. I may refuse service or close access to anyone who does.

12. Disclaimers

The site, products, and services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, JG BeatsLab disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. I don't guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any content is complete, current, or accurate at the moment you read it.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, JG BeatsLab and Josh Gilliland are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the site, products, or services. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid JG BeatsLab for the product or service the claim relates to in the 12 months before the claim.

14. Indemnity

You agree to cover JG BeatsLab and Josh Gilliland for claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from material you submit, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and you agree to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, we both agree to try to resolve things informally by email first.

16. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If I don't enforce a provision right away, I haven't waived it. These terms, together with any product-specific terms shown at purchase, are the full agreement between us.
