Right out of the gate this sounds like a Don Henley record, with a little Tom Petty wrapped in for good measure. That's not a small thing to pull off.

"Gettin' By" is an easygoing, mid-tempo classic rock track about resilience, everyday grit, and moving forward. It combines human lyrics and vocals with a layered arrangement, and hits its stride with a dynamic guitar solo in the bridge. I'd love for listeners to dive in, feel the warmth in the build-up, and add it to their daily rotation.
What I heard
Classic rock with a blues streak, and the Henley and Petty comparisons hold up the whole way through. You can tell the lyrics are human-written; they have the specificity and the ease that generated lyrics still struggle with, and he did a great job with them. The mix is solid too, nothing fighting for room.
This is the part I want to underline: this track is a big step in the direction I think human and AI collaboration is heading. A writer with real lyrics and a real voice, using the tools to build the record around them instead of the other way round. That's the model, and this is what it sounds like when it works.
Where it landed
