Not every song has to carry something heavy. This one was built to get a room moving, and it does.

What it's about

Rick's own note on the form was one line: "I wrote this song to celebrate America." The song does exactly that. Written and composed for the country's 250th birthday, it's a love letter to the heartland, to front porches and steel towns and Sunday prayers, and to the people whose hands built the place. He dedicates it to veterans, farmers, builders, and dreamers, and the video, which has passed 86,000 views since its June premiere, runs the full tour: landmarks, small-town parades, a wheat field, the moon landing.

What I heard

A driving beat that had my head moving before the first chorus. This is modern country, no question, with real energy and an uplifting streak that doesn't let up. It's the kind of track you can't sit still through, and that's the whole point of it. Fun, big-hearted, and made for a crowd.
