MASTERING FOR AI MUSIC

Real ears on
your AI tracks.

Human mastering, built exclusively for AI-generated music. Because that's all we master.

This is not AI mastering software. This is a human engineer, in a real DAW session, mastering music that was made with AI. That's the only job I do here.

Your Suno export sounds like a Suno export, not because your song is bad, because it isn't finished. Mastering is the difference between generated and released, and generic mastering services don't know what they're looking at when an AI track hits their desk. We do. It's the only kind of track we take.

HEAR IT FOR YOURSELF

Before you read the case, hear the result.

A real before-and-after, and the full written breakdown of every decision behind it.

WHY AI TRACKS NEED A DIFFERENT APPROACH

Every generation engine leaves fingerprints.

Send a Suno export to a traditional mastering engineer and you'll get back a polite note about the artifacts in your mix, followed by a master that either polishes those flaws until they glow, or squashes the track trying to hide them. They're not wrong about what they hear. They're wrong about what to do with it.

Here's the structural reason why. A conventional track arrives at mastering with a whole mixing stage behind it: an engineer already rode the vocal, lifted the quiet passages, tamed the harsh cymbal inside its own track, made a hundred small corrections before the master was ever touched. An AI generation skipped all of that. The stereo file is the first place a human can correct anything, which means mastering an AI track absorbs work that mixing would normally have done, hand-ridden levels on passages that disappear in the car, entrances and exits shaped by hand, problems solved at the only stage that exists. A traditional engineer treats your export like a finished mix. It isn't one. And an automated tool can't do this work at all, because it processes the whole file by rules: you can't tell an algorithm "bring up these two quiet phrases, but the dramatic pause at 1:50 stays." I take instructions like that every week. An algorithm masters the file. An engineer masters the song.

Low-mid buildup where definition should be.
A restrained top end hiding artifacts in the cymbals and vocal air.
Loudness that reads fine on a meter and wrong in your car.

A master built for AI source material works those specific problems: clearing the cloud without gutting the warmth, opening the top without amplifying the artifacts, landing streaming-ready loudness without flattening the performance the model actually gave you. That's not a preset. It's a practice, built across hundreds of AI tracks mastered across five actively releasing artist projects.

WHAT YOU GET WITH EVERY MASTER

Not just a file back.

  • A professionally mastered stereo WAV, loudness and true-peak verified to current streaming targets
  • Built by human ears in a real DAW session, never a one-click engine
  • One revision included on every track
  • Your Mastering Dossier: a written breakdown of every measurement and every processing decision, so you see exactly what was done and why

"I also really appreciate the Mastering Dossier. Seeing exactly what you heard in the original and why you made each adjustment gave me a much better understanding of what professional mastering is actually doing."

Daniel Eric Pye — Songwriter | Rugged Ravine / Hammer & Steel
WHAT MASTERING HERE DOESN'T DO

Anyone can make it louder.

Less is more is the golden rule of this craft, and I follow it. Your master will not come back brick-walled or squashed, with the quiet parts flattened into the loud ones. I don't make changes just so the master sounds "different" enough to justify the fee. If your track only needs a little, it only gets a little, and either way it's documented in your Dossier, including the moves I considered and left out.

The skill is knowing what to leave alone.

MASTER MY ALBUM

"I had just completed my album and faced the daunting task of mastering nine songs so that they each sounded professionally mastered and cohesive as an album. His masters had the sound I wanted and was consistent across all nine songs. In addition, he provided a Dossier detailing every adjustment he made and why, for each song. Highly professional, geared to your wants, and very affordable."

John Teti Sr. — "No Kings"

Same rate every way you buy it, no volume markup and no volume discount. The reason to send a set instead of a single is that working through a record in one sitting means the same EQ moves, the same dynamics approach, and the same loudness target across every track, so the catalog holds together instead of sounding like ten songs finished on ten different days. Different number of tracks? Email me and I'll invoice exactly what you need.

HOW IT WORKS

Recorded your own vocals over the track? That's a mix, not a master, a different job that happens before the master, not during it. That's The Vocal Mix, $199 founding rate.
WHO'S DOING THE MASTERING
Josh Gilliland

I'm Josh Gilliland, founder of JG BeatsLab. Five of my own AI-assisted bands are actively releasing, and one of my Suno-built tracks previously crossed half a million streams on Pandora, real numbers I published, including the royalty checks. I wrote Unlock Reaper, the book on mastering AI music, and hundreds of AI-generated tracks get submitted to me every month, through playlist curation, through mastering, and from people who just want to know why theirs doesn't sound right. I hear the difference between a finished track and an export every single day. When your master comes back, it was my ears on it, start to finish.

THE HONEST FINE PRINT

Mastering makes your track sound finished. It does not change what your track is, and I don't make promises about how any platform, playlist, or detection system will classify your music. If your track has problems mastering can't fix, generation issues, arrangement problems, a mix that needs real work, I'll tell you before I take your money, and point you at the Track Triage Review instead, where diagnosis is the whole product.

No open-ended engagements. No subscriptions. You own everything, always.
